How We Run
Code of Conduct
Our Mission
Connect people and create healthy communities through running.
Pacific Beach Run Club is a social and inclusive community built around running. All runners are welcome!
Our Principles
Five values, one vibe
These guide how we interact with each other and the community.
Members Over Everything
All of our principles can be summarized by this one: keep members' best interests at the core of every decision. The club is, and will only continue being a success if we prioritize the wellbeing and experience of everyone who is part of our community.
Everybody Eats
All members of our community are equal. Period. From a first-time attendee to a run leader, everyone should feel welcomed and supported. All facets of the club should account for everyone's best interests - not a select few.
Better Safe Than Sorry
The old adage is true. We aren't "risky" - we are careful and intentional with our actions and words. This should be applied everywhere we show up, from social posts and DM replies to the routes chosen for group runs. We respect our members by ensuring their physical, mental, and emotional health is not compromised while interacting with our community in any way.
Kindness is Cool
Kindness is our language at Pacific Beach Run Club. This is a requirement when communicating with other members, partners, or local residents in the communities where we are located.
Play > Work
The club is meant to be social first. We're not here to break world records or run until we pass out. That's not to say you won't sweat, or that the pace won't push you out of your comfort zone, but our primary focus is that you have space (and energy) to make friends.
Reporting & Enforcement
Members must support and respect each other.
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If you experience a safety concern or witness conduct that crosses a line, tell a run leader or email us directly.
We address violations with warnings up to expulsion, based on severity.
